From Denmark to abroad

The idea to offer pur posters as downloadable files arose because Nordic Simply has quite a few visitors from abroad - especially from the States and we really want to give you the opportunity to still enjoy our cute posters, even if you live outside Denmark, where Nordic Simply comes from. 

Let's take care of the environment together

Key values behind Nordic Simply are to reduce the environmental footprint we as a company leave when we produce and sell goods. Therefore, we do not feel it makes sense to print and ship our posters out of Denmark. We want to avoid the imprint cargoing paper across the globe makes, while still offering our posters to be available outside of Denmark.

If it is a personal poster, ie one of our posters with name and other details, we will customise it for you, send it for approval and then deliver the approved file in a high resolution .pdf file ready to print. 
Read below a few tips on how to print your file to make it a beautiful poster.  

How to choose paper for your poster

You have the option to choose your poster for download in these sizes 30x40 cm or 50x70 cm

For best results I recommend that you send your poster file to a professional printing company.
Reasons:

1) A professional printing company's can provide a very clear and crisp print in large formats- often far better than you can manage on a printer at home, in addition very few domestic printers can print in the large poster size required. 

2) At a printing company, you can choose between different types of paper according to your needs - to get the look of your poster exactly as you want it. 

If possible I recommend that you use a "green" printing company. If you are in Denmark - look for the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, if you are abroad choose a printing company that cares for the environment when they print by example by using FSC certified paper or recycled paper as well as vegetable or water-based colors for printing.

Before printing please consider which the type of paper you prefer:
1) The paper's gsm (grams per square meter), ie. the paper quality.
2) Type of paper: Matte or glossy.  

Selecting the correct gsm for your poster

We print on 170 gsm semi-gloss paper. We think this quality makes it a nice poster and the semi gloss surface looks beautiful in different types of frames. The paper has a smooth, slightly shiny surface. 
You can go with both thinner and thicker paper. 
If you choose thinner paper, I would recommend that you make sure you have a white background behind your poster as it could go a bit transparent. 
If you choose heavier paper quality, be very careful as it will crease easily. It is not necessarily better to choose a very heavy paper, as the poster does not "cooperate" quite so easily. If it is placed in a tube when you receive it, be extremely careful when unfolding to avoid any scratches - the thicker the paper the harder to unfold it without causing damage to the poster. See below when it is a good idea to choose heavier paper.

Matt or glossy paper for your poster

Before printing, consider your poster frame is it with or without glass in fromt. If your poster goes behind glass and placed on a white backing board, the paper does not have to be thick (170 gsm is perfect), and whether the poster is printed on matt or glossy paper is not that important because the glass will define the paper's glossiness.
Is the poster intended to be framed without glass - it could be in a float or magnetic frame, you can advantageously choose matt paper. It gives a beautiful perfectly crisp surface. Just avoid greasy fingers.
You will too need to consider whether the poster are to be placed in direct sunlight. When there is no glass in front, the poster will fade faster. The printing company however; can help you choose paper and the best way to print for your poster to last for years.
If you choose a frame without a backing board and without glass in front, it is a good idea to choose a little heavier paper it will make your poster hang nicely on the wall.
